Heavy Electrical Complex (Private) Limited (HEC) was incorporated as a private limited company on 09 December 1991 under Companies Ordinance, 1984. HEC is fully owned by State Engineering Corporation (SEC), Ministry of Industries and Production, Government of Pakistan. The Company is engaged in manufac turing of power transformers. The registered office of the company is situated at House # 1C, Street # 20, Perveen Shakir Road, F-7/2, Islamabad.

PROJECT LOCATION

The project is located at Hattar Industrial Estate - Hattar, District Haripur, NWFP at a distance of 66 Km from the country’s capital, Islamabad. The site has natural gas and electricity supplies, railway track and telephone facilities. Skilled manpower is also available in the region due to location of Heavy Engineering Industries nearby at Taxila and Wah.

    • North : Khanpur distributory No. 3
    • South : Road No. 6

DESIGNED CAPACITY

HEC is one of the industrial units of State Engineering Corporation (SEC) engaged in the manufacturing of power transformers of different types (total annual capacity 3000 MVA) with primary voltage rating of 66 and 132 KV. In addition, the HEC undertakes repair and refurbishment of old and damaged transformers upto 500 KV. HEC has six main manufacturing shops namely machine shop, winding shop, core shop, fabrication shop, insulation shop and assembly shop. In addition, HEC has an oil purification shop, high voltage test laboratory equipped with 250 ton overhead traveling crane. HEC can diversify its manufacturing range by including other products such as instrument transformers, high voltage circuit breakers and other grid stations equipped for meeting demand of the products in domestic and foreign markets.

PRODUCTION

HEC was set up in technical collaboration with manufacturers of international repute, to manufacture electrical equipment mainly used in 132KV and 66KV sub-stations and grid-stations of high voltage power supply systems. Most of the machinery is from China, Germany and Switzerland.

HEC started its trial production on 07 November 1994 whereas the commercial operations were started in March 1997.
