Mr. Ghous Bux Khan Mahar
Federal Minister for Privatisation

Mr. Ghous Bux Khan Mahar a veteran politician took oath as Federal Minister in the Federal Cabinet on May 2, 2011 and assigned the Portfolio of Federal Minister for Privatisation.

Mr. Ghous Bux Khan Mahar elected as MPA Sindh Assembly four times (1977, 1985, 1988 & 1993). He remained the Provincial Minister for Food, Agriculture and Livestock. He was also elected as Chairman District Council of Shikarpur in 1983 and 1987, served as the Speaker of Sindh Assembly from 1993 till February 1997 and held the charge of Acting Governor several times during 1994-1996.

He was twice elected as MNA in 1997 & 2002. He held the offices of the Federal Minister for Railways, Narcotics Control during 2002-07 and the Chairman of National Assembly Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat during 1997-99.

Mr. Ghous Bux Khan Mahar is politically affiliated with Pakistan Muslim League (Quaid-e-Azam) PML (Q) and presently he is the President PML (Q) Province of Sindh. He is also a member of Parliamentary Committee on appointment of Judges in the Superior Courts.

Mr. Ghous Bux Khan Mahar was born in Shikarpur on 27th October, 1945. He Graduated in Science. He is an agriculturalist by profession and has visited several countries around the world.
