ARGENTINEAN ENVOY CALLS ON PRIVATISATION MINISTER

The Argentine Republic Envoy to Pakistan Mr. Rodolfo J. Martin Saravia called on the Federal Minister for Privatisation Senator Waqar Ahmed Khan here today.

Mr. Rodolfo J. Martin Saravia informed the Minister that Argentinean investors were keen to participate in the Privatisation Program of Pakistan in industrial Estates and biotechnology sectors. There was a vast scope for Pakistani business groups to invest in Argentina, which needed to be explored on bilateral basis through exchange of delegations of both the countries, he added.

He further informed that on the completion of 100 years of their country on May 25, 2010, they are donating 1/3 of the Argentinean Park Land in G-6 for extension of Government Services Polyclinic Hospital for adding 1200 beds in a ceremony being participated by Argentinean Foreign Minister. The Park land was donated to Argentina by the then Prime Minister Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto.

Senator Waqar Ahmed Khan assured full support to the envoy regarding the promotion of economic activity by the private sectors of two countries and briefed him about the mode of Public Private Partnership (PPP) being undertaken to associate the private sector for the value addition of the Public Sector Entities. The exchange of delegations of business groups of the both the countries would be very much beneficial in terms of experience, ideas and to identify the sectors for further interaction, he remarked.
