LOTTE GROUP OF KOREA TO INVEST US $ ONE BILLION IN VARIOUS SECTORS

There is a need to promote Korean private sector investment in Pakistan through more interaction between the business communities of the Republic of Korea and Pakistan and their participation in the Privatisation Program. Senator Waqar Ahmed Khan Federal Minister for Privatisation stated this during a meeting with a delegation of LOTTE Group of Korea led by Mr. Oh Hun, Lim Executive Director here today.

Senator Waqar Ahmed Khan said that Pakistan provided a conducive investment environment in all the sectors without any discrimination between local and foreign investors by providing equal opportunities. He hoped that the interaction with Korean companies would provide an opportunity to business groups and investor to take advantage of Pakistan’s incentives extended through liberal investment, privatisation and economic policies.

The leader of the Korean LOTTE Group Mr. Oh Hun, Lim Executive Director said that their company was determined to invest US $ one billion in various sectors and the privatisation program, which includes power industry, fruits & beverages, constructions, hotels and tourism. The delegation expressed their interest in the Utility Stores Corporation countrywide network and indicated to participate in the privatisation and investment opportunities in Pakistan. Mr. Shahab Khawaja Secretary Privatisation was also present during the meeting.
