SHEIKH IKRAMULLAH SECRETARY MINISTRY OF PRIVATISATION & INVESTMENT DIES

Islamabad, February 23, 2007

The Secretary Ministry of Privatisation & Investment Mr. Sheikh Ikramullah who was admitted in PIMS after a stroke at PM House prior to meeting on 'Rolling Targets & Goals" on February 19, 2007 last his breath today afternoon. He got brain hemorrhage and was on respirator. He had undergone a major heart surgery two months back. He assumed the charge after his promotion to BS-22 as Federal Secretary Ministry of Privatisation & Investment on April 29, 2006. He started his carrier in 1973 as civil servant after passing CSS examination (2nd Common). He post graduated in English literature from Punjab University in 1970 and did his M.Sc in Admn Sciences and Development Problems from University of York U.K in 1989.

Prior to promotion as Federal Secretary in BS-22 he was serving as Senior Joint Secretary Defense Division. He also remained Joint Secretary in Defense Division, Financial Advisor Military Finance, Acting Secretary FPSC, DFA Military Finance, Secretary CBR and Deputy Director Prime Minister's Federal Inspection Commission. He was born on March 01, 1948. His funeral will be offered at Army Graveyard, Race Course Ground, Rawalpindi on February 24, 2007(Saturday) at 11 p.m.
