The Federal Secretary Ministry of Privatisation & Investment Mr. Arif
Mansur alongwith his wife died today in an unfortunate road accident on their
way from Makkah to Madina after performing Umra. Their three children were
also traveling in the same vehicle. younger son Akmal Mansur and daughter
Miss. Sabahat Mansur received serious head injuries and are in very critical
condition and are under treatment at Rabigh General Hospital while elder son
Nabeel Mansur is in stable condition. The bodies of both the deceased have
been shifted to Shisha Hospital Makkah. According to the preliminary
information the unfortunate family left for Madina after Fajar prayers at
Makkah and their vehicle over turned 160 k.m away from Makkah.
On his promotion to BS-22 Mr. Arif Mansur assumed the office of Federal
Secretary Ministry of Privatisation & Investment on March 7, 2007. He served
as Additional Secretary (Budget) Finance Division from November 2003 to March
2007. He also performed duties in the office of Auditor General as Deputy
Auditor General, Director General (International Relations & Coordination) and
Director General (Research & Development). He established a self-reliant
Secretariat for the Public Accounts Committee in the National Assembly in
1988. He served as Second Secretary (Finance & Accounts) at the Embassy of
Pakistan Washington DC, USA. He also held various important assignments in the
Military Accounts Department. He received specialized trainings in Budgeting &
Financial Management in Public Sector from John F. Kennedy School of
Government, Harvard University USA. He has a large number of publications,
papers, reports and studies on budgeting, accounting and management to his
credit. He was from the Second Common CSS course.
He was regarded as an outstanding civil servant due to his dedication,
devotion, honesty and exemplary performance. In an emergent condolence meeting
Mr. Zahid Hamid Federal Minister for Privatisation & Investment, senior
officers & staff of P & I Division and Privatisation Commission have condoled
the tragic and sudden death of Mr. Arif Mansur and his wife. They prayed to
the Almighty Allah to shower his blessings over the departed souls and give
courage and fortitude to the members of the bereaved family. They also prayed
for the speedy recovery of the injured children.
