PC BOARD REVIEWS PSO PRIVATISATION

Islamabad, April 2, 2007

      The Board of the Privatisation Commission met here today under the Chairmanship of Mr. Zahid Hamid, Federal Minister for Privatisation & Investment to review the progress of the PSO transaction.

2.    The Board was informed that seven (7) parties who had been qualified for participation had completed the first phase of due diligence. The names of these parties alongwith their proposed Consortium members are:-

i)      Al Jamaih Holding Company Consortium including Noor Investment Company and
        Fauji Foundation.

ii)     Dabbagh Holding Company Limited Consortium including Savola Group and Goldman
       Sachs.

iii)    Bakri Energy Company Consortium with Salsal Petroleum.

iv)    Kohinoor Textile Mills Consortium including Oman Oil Marketing Company.

v)    MCB Bank Limited Consortium with Petronas Intl. Ltd.

vi)   TransAsia Gas Intl.

vii)  Vitol S.A.

3.  The Board will meet again on 4th April 2007 to consider recommendations of the Transaction Committee relating to Attock Group of Companies.

4.  Apart from Members of the Board of the Privatisation Commission, senior officials of the respective Ministries and Departments attended the meeting.
