HAFEEZ RECEIVES RS. 10 MILLION CHEQUE FOR PRESIDENT'S RELIEF FUND

Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh Federal Minister for Privatisation & Investment received cheques worth Rupees ten million seven hundred ninety four thousand five hundred seventy two (Rs. 10,794,572/-) for the President's Relief Fund from Mr. Muhammad Sohail Tabba of Yunus Brothers Group of Industries here today.

The contributions made by the group's donor companies include Rs.5,000,000/- from Lucky Cement Management, Rs.794,572/- from the employees of Lucky Cement, Rs.3,000,000 from Gadoon Textile Mills Ltd and Rs.2,000,000 from Fazal Textile Mills Ltd.

Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh who is also chairman of the Cabinet Committee on domestic fund raising from the business groups lauded the contribution made by the group and said that it would motivate other Pakistani business groups and entrepreneurs to come forward for taking part in the noble task and to share the miseries of the earthquake affected countrymen by taking immediate and significant steps to help the victims. Only the timely assistance could  reduce the problems of the victims whereas the time was passing quickly, he said.

Mr. Sohail Tabba Director Yunus Brothers Group of Industries informed the Minister that their group was engaged in other reconstruction and rehabilitation activities in Chakothi, Dhadar and Allai in Balakot, which included construction of roofs on four pillars, providing cement bags to the affected people for building the walls to associate them in the activity. So far the group has distributed 6500 tents and physiotherapy section was also being established in the area, he added.
