A three-member delegation of OMV (Pakistan) led by Mr. George Wachtel,
General Manager OMV called on Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh Federal Minister for
Privatisation & Investment here today.
The delegation expressed their keen interest to expand their business and
investment activities in Pakistan through exploration in the Oil & Gas sector
in the new areas and by participating in the related sectors of privatisation
program. Mr. Wolfgang Remp, Senior Vice President, Exploration & Production
International from Vienna Head Office informed the Minister regarding
company's achievements in Pakistan and said that Pakistan has vast potential
in the Oil and Gas sector and provides conducive investment atmosphere.
Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh assured the delegation of due assistance for expanding
their investment in Pakistan and stated that the government's all policies
were aimed at attracting maximum investment in the country. We provide level
playing field to local and foreign investors without any discrimination among
them in all the sectors of economy, he said.
The Minister appreciated OMV's active role in the Oil & Gas industry of
Pakistan and hoped that the company would also focus on social services in
their areas of activity.
