PC RECEIVES SEVEN EOIS FOR PURCHASE OF PECO LAND

The Privatisation Commission has received seven (7) Expression Of Interest (EOI) from the interested parties to participate in the bidding process for purchase of the land at Badami Bagh, Lahore owned by Pakistan Engineering Company Limited (PECO), (Badami Bagh Works), Lahore, on an "AS-IS-WHERE-IS" basis through the competitive bidding process.

The area of PECO Badami Bagh land is situated in the South of Lahore Railway station and in the North of Badami Bagh Railway station. This is a commercial area, accessible by roads and railway siding. The site is ideally located in the heart of thriving steel market of Badami Bagh, essentially a single commodity market of mainly steel and steel related business. This site is also in the vicinity of Badami Bagh timber market.

The prospective bidders who have submitted Expression of Interest include 1.  Al-Hamza Ship Breaking Company & Group, Karachi, 2. Bara Ghee Mills, Peshawar, 3. Cresent Standard Group, Karachi, 4. Kohinoor Iron & Steel Traders, Lahore, 5. Kohinoor Oil Mills Ltd, Lahore, 6. Seatrade Group, Karachi and 7. Sukh Chayn Gardens Pvt Ltd, Rawalpindi. PC invited the EOIs during the last month.

After the pre-qualification of the prospective bidders a pre-bid conference will be held to facilitate a better understanding of the transaction, bidding process and to respond to the queries of the prospective bidders at the Privatisation Commission, Islamabad immediately after the receipt of EOIs.
