PC STARTS DIALOGUE WITH WORKERS ON PTCL PRIVATISATION

A meeting was held today in the office of the Privatization Commission (PC) with the representatives of the various Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) employees unions with a view to apprise them on the privatisation process of PTCL and allay their concerns and apprehensions in this regard.

The meeting was held in a cordial and amicable atmosphere and the  representatives of the employees and the PC assured that the dialogue will be continued with a view to address all genuine concerns of the employees.

The PC gave a background to the privatization policy and program of the  Government, which has been carried forth and supported by all the  stakeholders including the successive governments and the employees.

The meeting also decided that the next meeting between the representatives of the unions of the employees of PTCL and the PC would be held in the second week of May to further address the concerns of the employees and to resolve those.
