Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh Federal Minister for Privatisation & Investment has left for Istanbul Turkey to lead Pakistan in the OIC Economic Conference being held from November 23-27, 2004 on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the OIC Standing Committee on Economic and Commercial Cooperation (COMCEC). Dr. Hafeez Shaikh will be the Principal Speaker in the on 'Amplifying Network: A Strategy for Economic Cooperation Among OIC Countries'. He will also be the moderator in the Business Forum and brief the Ministers and Businessmen from the OIC countries in the Brainstorming Session. The preliminary agenda of the moot is focused on evaluation of the economic and commercial cooperation within OIC, promotion of the intra-OIC Trade and Investment and measures to enhance the institutional set up and mechanisms for the OIC Economic and Commercial Cooperation. The Turkish Prime Minister is expected to open the moot. Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh will also brief the participating Ministers and the top business leaders from the OIC Countries regarding the Privatisation Program of Pakistan and the investment opportunities in the country.
