Five (5) parties have submitted their Expressions of Interest (EOI) by the due
date of April 30, 2004 for participation in the privatization process of
Carrier Telephone Industries (Private) Limited (CTI) in response to the
Privatisation Commission’s public advertisements soliciting EOIs from
interested parties in the privatization of CTI.
The parties who have submitted their EOIs for CTI include (i) Saif Telecom
Limited, (ii) Consortium of Crescent Standard Business Management (Pvt.) Ltd.,
Simcon International (Pvt.) Ltd., CTI Executive Association (regd.) & CTI
Workers Union, (iii). M/s Siemens, (iv) Aqeel Karim Dhedhi Securities (Pvt.)
Ltd. And (v) Northern Engineering Corporation.
As part of the privatisation of the telecommunications sector in Pakistan the
Privatisation Commission on behalf of the Pakistan Telecommunications Company
Limited (PTCL), intends to privatise CTI by offering for sale 53% shares held
by PTCL in CTI.
