A spokesman of the Ministry of Privatisation has clarified a news item titled "Ministers' portfolio notified" published in Islamabad based English language daily dated July 3, 2004, stating that the Board of Investment (BOI) continues to remain with the Ministry of Privatisation vide Cabinet Division's OM No.4-5/2003-Min dated April 14, 2003 and subsequent Notification No.4-6/2003-Min dated April 21, 2003 S.R.O 369(1)/2003, in exercise of the powers conferred by Article 90 and 99 of the Constitution the Islamic Republic of Pakistan through amendments in the Rules of Business by the President and no change has been made in this regard. BOI remains an assignment of the Federal Minister for Privatisation & Investment Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh and the impression created through the said news item stating that 'BOI not assigned to any Minister' is totally wrong, the spokesman concluded.
