PAK-EGYPT JOINT MINISTERIAL COMMISSION TO MEET IN 2004

Pak Egypt Joint Ministerial Commission will meet in 2004 to promote bilateral relations in investment, trade and transfer of technologies in various areas.

The matter was discussed by the Ambassador of Egypt to Pakistan Mr. Hasham El-Zimaity in a meeting with the Federal Minister for Privatisation & Investment Dr. Abdul Hafeez Shaikh here today.

Dr. Hafeez Shaikh said that there existed vast scope to promote economic interaction between the two countries. There was a need to explore new avenues to promote business-to-business dialogue and to benefit from the Egyptian experience in Agriculture, Textile, Tourism and development of costal areas, he said.

He further stated that Pakistan and Egypt enjoyed good brotherly and deep rooted friendly relations and both being members of Organisation of Islamic Countries (OIC) could play important role among the member States in various fields.

The Egyptian Envoy Mr. Hisham El-Zimaity assured Egypt's maximum support the Minister in holding the forthcoming JMC and expressed that the exchange of business delegations between the two countries would set a pace to achieve the targets. He remained with the Minister for some time and discussed various other matters of mutual interests.
